I have been involved with DofE across schools i've worked in for around 15 years. This is the second time I have been on this outdoor first aid course and it remains the best first aid course I have ever been on. This is for two reasons, firstly, it combines all of the basic first aid knowledge with a practical application to the outdoor setting. It challenges you to think about the limitations of being remote and the unique circumstances you can find yourself in. Secondly, Stephen Brown is the best facilitator of any course I have ever been on. His approach is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I would recommend this course to anyone.

Fantastic, enjoyable 2 days where I learnt a massive amount of information, got to put it all into practise but in a non-threatening way. Great trainer who was enthusiastic with endless knowledge who enabled us to succeed. Asking questions was actively encouraged and we were guided to problem solve for ourselves. It was a very positive experience.

This course built on previous knowledge to build our confidence in delivering first aid in an outdoor environment through the use of realistic outdoor scenarios, where possible actions were discussed as a group. The instructor also discussed which first aid training various student groups should receive (e.g. D of E) and showed us different equipment that we could use in our own first aid kits.
This was a very practical course which was delivered with warmth and humour.
