Our Structure & Verification
Since 2013, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has no longer been responsible for controlling or inspecting first aid training organisations. Instead, the HSE sets out a set of standards that reputable providers are expected to meet. You can view the latest version of these standards here: HSE GEIS3
To meet these standards, training organisations must follow one of two verification routes:
- Umbrella Accreditation: Joining a larger umbrella body that inspects and monitors its members.
- Self-Regulation, Running an internal quality assurance and verification system that meets HSE criteria.
Active Aid follows the second route: Self-Regulation.
Here's why this works for us, and for you:
- We are a tight-knit, established company composed of experienced, professional trainers from diverse backgrounds.
- All Active Aid trainers are engaged in an ongoing, rigorous internal training and development process.
- Every element of this process is logged automatically. Trainers who do not meet every required standard are suspended until they do.
- This ensures that every course we run reflects current best practices, up-to-date techniques, and full compliance with national HSE training standards.
Our quality speaks for itself, and our clients consistently agree.
Experience first aid training the way it should be: active, effective, and unforgettable.
